WHY WE STARTED VECTOR
We kept rebuilding the same missing layer.
In 2023, Maya and Arjun were on different teams solving the same problem: every company deploying AI agents was quietly building its own version of memory, permissions and execution control usually badly, and always from scratch.
Agents were smart enough to reason. They weren’t safe enough to act. No one owned the layer between a model’s decision and a real system being touched the layer that determines whether autonomy is a liability or an asset.

Maya Chen
Co-Founder & CEO
Previously led ML infrastructure at a Series D fintech. Maya started Vector after watching three separate teams rebuild the same agent permissions layer from scratch.
Arjun Verma
Co-Founder & CTO
Spent six years building distributed systems for autonomous trading infrastructure. Arjun designed Vector's execution and permissions engine from first principles.
